I am Oliver Arnold, an independent consultant in international development cooperation, with a main focus on nature conservation, climate change and natural resource management projects in Latin America and worldwide. My professional background is in Economics, Public Policy and Management, however for all of my professional life I’ve been involved in nature conservation and natural resource management and I could gain extensive knowledge there. Depending on the scope and requirements of the work, I join forces with other experts like forestry or agricultural engineers, ecological economists, sociologists, climate change experts, etc.
So far, I could gather 18 years of work experience, which include positions as a project manager in KfW Development Bank, country officer for Peru and Ecuador in the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and 10 plus years of independent consulting work. Also, I got to know GIZ, Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the German Federal Environment Office. I also work as a Life and Business Coach and hold trainings for Emotional Intelligence. I'm passionate about the evolution of consciousness as I feel that's where we can find solutions for the challenges of our time.
Based on this experience my work mostly includes consulting services related to international development cooperation projects in the “green” sector like project identification and design in the form of scoping studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, project appraisal, project evaluations like mid-term and final evaluations and support in project management. I also offer consulting regarding the design of the governance structure, implementation units and operational procedures of projects.
